Super-30 To Coach 90 Instead of 30 For IIT

Super-30, the institute which coaches underprivileged students to crack IIT-JEE, would train 90 students instead of 30 from the next session beginning June this year.

"We have increased the number of students for Super-30 from next session beginning June this year itself. We will be coaching 30 students in three batches so that the nomenclature is not changed," founder of the institute Anand Kumar told.

From this year onwards, Super-30 would also include the meritorious students of lower middle class from across the country on the basis of written test besides the underprivileged lot which has been the core of the institute since its inception.

The institute which provide food and lodging facility to its 30 students free of cost besides coaching would extend the same facility to the 90 students, who would be selected through an all India written test, Kumar said.

On being asked from where did he get the inspiration to coach poor students, Kumar said, "I felt the pinch of financial constraint when I could not get admission to the Cambridge University, London despite getting an offer from the University...This inspired me to start Super-30 for meritorious students of poor families."

The Super 30's record has been phenomenal since last two years. It has achieved 100 per cent success which means 30 out of 30 students made it to the prestigious IITs.

Kumar earned laurels for his noble cause from all quarters across the world. Discovery channel had also filmed a documentary on Anand's struggle.
