The Patna High Court directed the National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) to inspect all government and private run B.Ed institutions and inquire whether they fulfill the criterion and norms laid by the NCTE.
Hearing a PIL, a division bench of the court of Chief Justice Dipak Mishra and Justice Mihir Kumar Jha directed regional director RB Sharma of the NCTE to submit the inquiry report by February 25.
Through the PIL it was alleged that anti-social elements were running the B.Ed institutions at several places in the state by procuring no objection certificates from the NCTE even though they did not fulfill the laid norms.
