A reconstitution of the Bihar Congress may be on the cards soon ahead of the assembly elections in the state this year amid reports that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar could advance the polls to May.

After Rahul Gandhi's just-concluded visit to the state, which is said to have evoked a good response, a section in the Congress is wanting that the party should put its best foot forward by making appropariate changes in the PCC.

Party sources said the recent faux pas of mentioning caste against the names of the office-bearers of the newly- constituted PCC committee of the state, is one of the reasons for the revamp which is expected to take place soon.

Speaker Meira Kumar, who is an MP from Sasaram in Bihar, was mentioned with her caste name in the PCC list bringing her office into an avoidable controversy.
